How TradeMailer Works
(and why it's different)

Helping you reach property owners who are ready to hire

TradeMailer scans planning applications every day and finds real projects that match the type of work you do — extensions, new builds, glazing, solar installs, tree works, you name it.

When a planning application is granted, we match it to your trade and your chosen postcode areas. If it fits, we automatically generate a personalised, handwritten-style letter introducing you and your services. One credit = one letter posted to a real home with a real project.

You set how many credits you want each month, write your introduction letter once, and you’re ready to go. No chasing leads, no endless scrolling, no fighting for attention online. Just genuine opportunities delivered straight to you, quietly working in the background.

Credits roll over if you don’t use them, and you can increase, reduce, or pause anytime. No contracts. No faff.

What happens when you sign up

The video below shows the short setup process you go through when you first sign up to TradeMailer.

It walks through choosing your postcode areas, selecting the type of work you want, writing your introductory letter, and setting a monthly limit. Once that’s done, there’s nothing else for you to manage — we monitor planning applications and send letters automatically when relevant work appears.

If you just want the overview, the steps above are enough.

If you’d like to see the setup process in full, the video below shows exactly what to expect.

Why Letters Beat Scattergun Marketing

Most marketing is scattergun — you throw messages everywhere and hope something sticks. Flyers get binned, boosted posts get ignored, generic ads blend into the noise, and mass emails vanish into spam folders. You’re paying to reach thousands of people who aren’t even planning a project, so response rates are tiny and the money often disappears with nothing to show for it.

Letters cut through the noise.

A physical letter addressed from you gets opened. It feels personal. Property owners read it because it’s clearly about their project, not a random advert.

builder leads
Letters build trust instantly.

A thoughtful introduction stands out in a world full of scrolling and spam. It creates a connection before you've even met the customer.

builder leads
Letters arrive at the perfect moment.

Property owners planning a build or renovation are already thinking about who to use. Your letter meets them exactly when they’re making decisions.

builder leads
Letters aren’t scattergun — they’re targeted.

Every letter is tied to a genuine planning application. You’re not posting blindly or hoping Facebook shows your ad to the right person. It’s precise, personal, and proven to get better responses.

The leads are proper jobs and local too — best thing I’ve signed up for in years.

I love getting calls from people saying they've received my letter and thought they thought sending letters was a great idea
